David Tennant’s latest film Bad Samaritan holds its UK premiere at the Arrow Video FrightFest 2018. The long-running horror and fantasy film festival, now in its nineteenth year, is set to take place from Thursday 23rdto Monday 27thAugust at Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema in London’s West End.
This year’s FrightFest will showcase 70 films from 18counties including 20 World, 17 European and 22 UK Premieres. The opening night attraction is the UK premiere The Ranger, Jenn Wexler’s directorial debut starting Chloe Levine.
Bad Samaritan will be screened on Thursday 23rdAugust at Cineworld Leicester Square at 8pm, one day before its general release. The film features David Tennant in his scariest role yet as he portrays the murderous psychopathic monster, Cale Erendreich. Sean Falco (Robert Sheehan) car valet who with his co-worker and best friend Derek (Carlito Olivero) burglarise houses of the owners of cars they park while. Sean makes the mistake of breaking into Cale’s Portland, Oregon mansion where he finds a young woman, Helen (Lisa Brenner), tied to a chair in what looks to be a torture room. After Sean fails in an attempt to report the crime in progress to police, Erendreich seeks revenge on the hapless thief, destroying all that he holds dear.
Bad Samaritan opened to mixed critical reviews in Canada and US on 4thMay, but the film has garnered a large following at various conventions thanks to the tireless promotion of its director Dean Devlin, writer Brandon Boyce along with the unique fan-based entertainment company LegionM. Fans have nothing but praise for the movie, the cast and creative team and of course David Tennant.
This is not Tennant’s first movie to hold its UK premiere at the Fright Fest. In 2011, Fright Night, starring the late Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Colin Farrell and David Tennant, first screened the UK to a packed audience with Tennant on hand to delight the eager fans. The guest for the event has yet to be announced, but don’t be surprised his David Tennant and along with several other members of the cast and creative team appear at FrightFest.
