Max Warp roars into life on vinyl this weekend, as it’s released in Asda shops across the country
The day is finally here. This weekend sees the latest Big Finish vinyl release hit Asda shops across the country. Max Warp is the 2008 adventure for the Eighth Doctor and Lucie Miller that throws them into the middle of a strangely familiar TV show.
Boorish Geoffrey Vantage. Sensible but slightly dull O’Reilly. Thrill seeking risk taker ‘the Ferret.’ Together they review the best (and worst) spaceships in the galaxy. But when an accident during a test flight risks causing an interplanetary war, only the Doctor and Lucie can solve the mystery and save the peace.
Previously available as a CD and download, this is Max Warp’s first time on vinyl, prompting writer Jonathan Morris to joke that he was “delighted that my writing can finally be enjoyed in its original, analogue form, just as it was when it left my brain.”
This special vinyl edition is strictly limited to only 2,000 copies. And it will only be found in selected UK branches of Asda, subject to availability. A list of participating Asda branches is available, however Blogtor Who strongly recommends you contact the store in advance before making a special journey.
And on that bombshell…
“Welcome to Max Warp! Broadcasting live from the Sirius Inter-G Cruiser Show. Hosted by outspoken columnist and media personality Geoffrey Vantage, with spaceship-guru-extraordinaire O’Reilley and daredevil pilot Timbo ‘the Ferret’.”
When a test flight of the new Kith Sunstorm ends in disaster, the Sirius Exhibition Station is plunged into a web of murder and intrigue. Someone –or something –is trying to re-ignite a war between the Varlon Empire and the Kith Oligarchy. As the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance, only two investigators, the Doctor and Lucie, can hope to uncover the truth. So strap yourself in, engage thrust, and prepare for… Max Warp!
