Next year, the Doctor and Rose meet a modern Prometheus. We also find out what happens to the worlds the Time Lords saves after the TARDIS departs

The first Doctor Who fiction books for 2025 have been revealed. First up in April, almost exactly 20 eyears since they first appeared on television, the Ninth Doctor and Rose return. Frankenstein is the latest in the strand of novels playing in the world of classic literature. This time the book sees the duo meet a mad scientist determined to play god. He believes Mary Shelley’s recently published novel must be based on some element of truth (if only he knew). Now, nothing will stop him from making Frankenstein’s nightmare a reality. Doctor Who: Frankenstein is the work of crime novelist Jack Heath, as he enters the Whoniverse for the first time.

The Sequels follows in October. The short story collection explores what happens after the TARDIS disappears. Can those people the Doctor’s met rebuild the worlds they’ve just saved? Authors for the stories are still unknown for now.

Doctor Who: Frankenstein by Jack Heath, 24th April 2025

What a piece of work is a man . . .

When the Ninth Doctor and Rose investigate a strange signal in a remote village in England, they get more than they bargained for.

A scientist has taken it upon himself to create new life – imitating Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, a book that has sent shock waves around the country.

But, much like his fictional counterpart, this doctor is playing god, and with forces beyond his understanding. As the Doctor and Rose attempt to put the brakes on the experiment, before it gets out of control, a sinister alien presence reveals itself…
