The BBC have released a new snippet of interview with Jodie Whittaker
It’s exactly one week to go until The Woman Who Fell to Earth quite literally drops. So it’s no surprise the BBC are ramping up promotion of Doctor Who Series 11. Today we get new discussion from Jodie Whittaker about the new episodes. And even a look at a new variant of her costume for cosplayers to pour over.
“It embraces the old and the new every episode,” Whittaker says, “You know you have something that has a familiar character throughout all the years it’s been on, but has been played by so many different actors and every season has opened more doors and taken us in completely different directions without ever losing what the show is about.”
The interview, conducted on location, features Whittaker in a similar, but different, costume to the ones we’ve seen so far. The trailers and promotional photos previously released have shown a navy blue top or a pink one. But here her already iconic rainbow stripes are atop light blue. More than that, we see the Doctor without her coat for the first time, exposing the long sleeved white undershirt beneath the short sleeved t-shirt. This combination had already been seen in the Funko toy range, but the interview confirms it will appear on screen in Series 11.
The new video then finishes with a mix of imagery taken from the recent trailer.
