Tonight sees the annual BBC Children in Need’s appeal extravaganza currently entertaining millions on BBC One and included was the first proper look at this year’s Doctor Christmas special.
The sneak peak features Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and Matt Lucas who is returning as Nardole. The pair team up with an investigative reporter (Charity Wakefield) and a masked superhero (Justin Chatwin) to save New York City from an alien invasion.
“The Return of Doctor Mysterio”, written by Steven Moffat and directed by Ed Bazalgette (Poldark), airs on Christmas day. Also appearing in the episode are Adetomiwa Edun, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Logan Hoffman.
Doctor Who is filmed in Cardiff at BBC Wales Roath Lock Studios. The show is Executive Produced by Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin and produced by Peter Bennett.
