There is currently much excitement in the world of Doctor Who as it’s newest spin-off ‘Class’ approaches it premiere.

The show created and written by young adult author Patrick Ness will showcase four new rising stars, Greg Austin, Sophie Hopkins, Fady Elsayed and Vivian Oparah. All four plus the show’s creator took to video recently to give us a brief insight into their personalities.

The videos also has a look behind the scenes at the readthrough and photo shoot.

Greg Austin introduces the likeable, slightly weird and socially awkward, Charlie.

Greg Austin is a graduate of Arts Educational Schools London. He got his start in the second series of ITV’s ‘Mr Selfridge’. Austin, at twenty-one was tasked with playing fifteen-year-old Gordon Selfridge, son of the titular Henry Selfridge. He has enjoyed guest spots on ‘Law & Order: UK’ and starred in the short film ‘Into the Surf’.

Sophie Hopkins and Patrick Ness introduce April, the school’s ‘try-hard’.

Sophie Hopkins explored her passion for performing whilst enrolled at York College, studying Performing Arts and Musical Theatre. She struck out for London to work with Repertory Theatre company Fourth Monkey. Hopkins featured predominantly in short films and documentaries, though appeared in 2016 suspenseful thriller ‘Brackenmore’.

Fady Elsayed and Patrick Ness introduce Ram, the school’s football star.

British/Egyptian actor Fady Elsayed, just like his co-star Greg Austin has also appeared on ‘Law & Order: UK’. Elsayed has appeared on hit shows such as ‘Casualty’ and ‘Penny Dreadful’. He also joined forces with Doctor Who alum Noel Clarke, famous for playing Mickey Smith from 2005-2010, starring in his British film ‘Brotherhood’.

Vivian Oparah and Patrick Ness introduce Tanya, the youngest but brainiest of the group.

Vivian Oparah is fresh from The National Youth Theatre. No doubt ready to show off her training in her ‘Class’ character. Oparah’s impressive credentials come from a top institution of acting excellence.
