The countdown to Doctor Who Series 11 continues with a new short video featuring the cast of the new series.
New Doctor Jodie Whittaker is joined by co-stars Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole and Bradley Walsh to describe the upcoming eleventh series of the show in thirteen words – although Walsh manages to sneak an extra few in! – which include ‘thrilling’, ‘frightening’, and ‘extraordinary’:

The video is the latest teaser posted by the BBC ahead of Sunday’s opening episode of Series 11. Last week we got a new on-location interview snippet from Jodie Whittaker, in which she says her debut series ’embraces the old and the new’:
“You know you have something that has a familiar character throughout all the years it’s been on, but has been played by so many different actors and every season has opened more doors and taken us in completely different directions without ever losing what the show is about.”
Earlier this week the BBC also released a video from new showrunner Chris Chibnall hinting at what viewers can expect from Series 11:
“I hope you can expect everything you’ve always loved about Doctor Who. You can expect emotion, you can expect action and adventure, and monsters and far-off planets, and huge alien vistas. You can expect a lot of humour, a lot of warmth and some great characters.”
Further building up anticipation for the new series, the BBC has also this week released a set of new images from the Series 11 opener, The Woman Who Fell To Earth. The photos feature the show’s new regular cast alongside Sharon D Clarke, who is set to be appearing throughout the series ‘in a returning role’.
Doctor Who returns to BBC One at 6.45pm on Sunday, the 7th of October with The Woman Who Fell to Earth by Chris Chibnall. Series 11 stars Jodie Whittaker (The Doctor), Mandip Gill (Yasmin Khan), Bradley Walsh (Graham O’Brien) and Tosin Cole (Ryan Sinclair).
