Jenna Coleman will soon be returning to her TV throne when Victoria Series 2 begins on ITV later this month.

If you’re a fans of the critically acclaimed period drama then you’re in for a Bank Holiday treat. The ITV Press Centre have today confirmed that the long-awaited Series 2 will air from Sunday 27th August at 9:05pm.

The same cast and crew are at the helm for this second series of ITV’s hit drama. Jenna Coleman returns to play Queen Victoria and Tom Hughes reprises his role as her husband, Prince Albert. Writer Daisy Goodwin also returns to pen the scripts and serve as executive producer.

Victoria Series 2 will see the young queen dealing with a new dilemma: motherhood. Daisy Goodwin promises Victoria will have “to juggle children with her husband and her job”. In her own words: “As Victoria will discover, it’s hard to be a wife, a mother and ruler of the most powerful nation on earth!”. Meanwhile, Damien Timmer from Mammoth Screen notes that we can expect “constitutional crises, scandals at court and personal challenges aplenty for the Queen and Prince Albert”.

We were big fans of the show’s first series and you can once again look forward to regular reviews here on Blogtor Who after each episode airs.

Victoria Series 2 begins on ITV on Sunday 27th August at 9:05pm. The series will premiere on Masterpiece PBS on Sunday 14th January 2018.
