Tonight sees the announcement of the 20th TV Choice awards. Peter Capaldi and Doctor Who are nominated.
Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi is nominated in the Best Actor category alongside Jim Carter, Downton Abbey (ITV), Tom Hiddleston, The Night Manager (BBC1) and Cillian Murphy, Peaky Blinders (BBC2).
Doctor Who itself gets the nod for Best Family Drama, fighting off Call The Midwife (BBC1), Casualty (BBC1) and The Durrells (ITV).
The TV Choice Awards are voted for by the general viewing public who pick their favourite shows, actors and actresses of the past year.
Tonight’s winners will be announced on stage from The Dorchester on London’s Park Lane. The ceremony is not televised, but you can follow the night’s proceedings on Twitter @tvchoice / #tvchoiceawards.
