With its fifth series concluding in February, what’s next for Torchwood?
In the Big Finish podcast, Nick Briggs and Benji Clifford confirmed details of three new stories in the Torchwood monthly range set to resume in March. Gareth David-Lloyd, who plays courageous coffee boy Ianto Jones, will write ‘The Last Beacon’ for release in April.
‘The Last Beacon’ stars Burn Gorman and Gareth David-Lloyd reprising their Torchwood roles. Owen Harper and Ianto Jones find themselves fighting alien incursion on a camping trip. This will be the second story in Torchwood’s fourth monthly series following ‘The Death of Captain Jack’ in March 2018.
David-Lloyd has been proving his chops behind the camera (and/or microphone) lately. He’s contributed the second script in June’s ‘Torchwood One: Machines‘ and recently made his directorial debut with Twisted Showcase.
Along with this announcement, Clifford and Briggs also announced the titles and writers of the following two releases. Guy Adams brings us ‘We Always Get Out Alive’ and series producer James Goss will write ‘Goodbye Piccadilly’.
Director Scott Handcock has been tweeting photos from the studio all week. So it’s a fair bet that we’ll be hearing from the rest of the team before long.

We’ll update with more info as we get it. In the meantime, be sure to check out our review of ‘Aliens Among Us: Part Two‘.
I don´t get tired of Ianto, never! And I´d LOVE more stories with Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones, my favorite Torchwood couple ever. Good article.
I’d love to hear a Ianto and Tosh story. Always thought there’d be a good friendship between those too…
