Jodie Whittaker will be the first guest on the brand new series of Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, which begins on Channel 4 tonight!
The opening episode of the show’s sixth series sees the Doctor Who star join hosts Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty at their café, based at the end of Southend Pier.
As well as helping Jamie & Jimmy to rustle up a pork roast feast, complete with crispy crackling, Whittaker will also be indulging in some time-travelling of a culinary flavour. As each episode of the show sees guests learn to cook a meal of their choice, Whittaker will be attempting to recreate the Thai massaman curry she first experienced during her days backpacking at the age of 18.
In tonight’s show, the presenting duo also hit the road in a campaign to keep sustainable British crabs on the menu, whilst the Harlequins ladies rugby squad are in for a treat when Jimmy creates a makeshift barbeque out of an oil drum.
Whittaker was revealed as a guest on the show earlier this year, with other famous faces set to pop up over the course of the series including Sir Patrick Stewart, Martin Freeman, Jessica Chastain and Stephen Fry. She’ll be the second Doctor to take part in the show; David Tennant rocked up at Jamie & Jimmy’s café back in 2016 to cook dishes including a Croatian-style cuttlefish risotto, which features in Jamie Oliver’s new recipe book based on the show.
Whittaker’s appearance on tonight’s Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast comes ahead of Sunday’s Doctor Who Series 11 finale. The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos sees the Doctor and her friends answer nine separate distress calls, leading them to the planet of Ranskoor Av Kolos, a series of mysteries – and a deadly reckoning.
