The suspense is rising and the plot is thickening!

Vortex Butterflies Part 3 begins with the Doctor on a mysterious planet and in communication with the time vortex. Meanwhile companions Gabby and Cindy have their differences as they are placed in the ultimate companion crisis, life without the Doctor.

DOCTOR WHO: TENTH DOCTOR YEAR THREE #8

Writer Nick Abadzis shows us how strong the bond between the Doctor and his companion really can be but also why each companion wants the Doctor around. From a need to run away from the real word to wanting to see the universe and all it’s wonders. Who knows this better than a past companion, the one that simply got left behind.

A companion will never forget their adventures with the Doctor but in this issue, the 10th Doctor seems to forget about his companions. A darker side to this incarnation not really seen before.

We also begin to see the extent of Gabby’s power that has slowly been revealing itself over the past few issues. As for Cindy, her thoughts are on what life could be like without the Doctor which brings on a showdown with Gabby that forces them both to think seriously about their future together.

And of course, we can’t forget Noob, who is all loved up on his own planet. Where this little rendezvous fits into the grand scheme is still waiting to be revealed.

This is another issue filled with amazing panels created by artist Giorgia Sposito. She brings to life a strange and bewildering planet and the vortex beautifully. Paired with Nick Abadzis excellent story telling you can not fail to get immersed in another tantalising Doctor Who story. We are so ready for the next issue!
