The Sisterhood of Karn, the London based group for LGBT Doctor Who fans, are thrilled to announce the latest in their occasional series of special events: An Evening with Lisa Bowerman.
The Sisterhood of Karn was formed in February 1994, originally titled ‘Strictly no Anoraks’ however it changed after their first meeting after concerns it might put off potential memberships.
The group have hosted similar events including, a Louise Jameson Event, An Evening With Adric with Matthew Waterhouse. The functions have been described as ‘fun and relaxed’ by attendees which can be attributed to the smaller more intimate events in comparison to a large convention.
Lisa Bowerman is no stranger to Doctor Who. She starred as Cheetah Person Karra in the last televised episode of the original series ‘Survival’ with Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred. And she is perhaps best known Professor Bernice Summerfield in the Big Finish Doctor Who spinoff. This is all in addition to her role as director for countless Big Finish Audio Dramas.
The event will take place on Friday the 17th of August 2018 at 7.30pm at The Kings Arm (Upstairs Bar) in Soho. Tickets are priced at £8.45 each and are available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-lisa-bowerman-tickets-47678420439
