Well we weren’t there but the Doctor joined Jim Henson’s world-famous Muppets last night at the O2. David Tennant, Peter Davison and Kylie Minogue were all special guests for The Muppets Live held at London’s O2.
As we said weren’t in attendance but it is pretty clear that Miss Piggy was claiming the Tenth Doctor as he sprawled over the Pig in Space console. Georgia better watch out. David Tennant sung the Rainbow Connection with the very lovely Kylie Minogue, who famously played Astrid Peth in the Doctor Who 2007 Christmas Special, Voyage of the Damned. Word has it that Peter Davison was also on stage but we are not sure how he interacted with the famous puppets from America in their first Muppet Live show.
First formed in 1955, Jim Henson’s Muppets brought unique mix of musical performances, sketches and celebrity guests to their televisions shows and movies. Also at The Muppets Live were comedians Adam Hills and Kevin Bishop, actor Charles Dance and middle-aged popsters, Steps.
Discussing the live shows, Kermit the Frog said, “We’re thrilled and thankful to all these stars for joining us for The Muppets Take The O2. I’m sure the audience will have the time of their lives. And I promise that no celebrities will be harmed in the making of this once-in-a-lifetime event, so long as they don’t get between Miss Piggy and the audience.”
Miss Piggy is quoted as saying, “Moi’s fabulous performance alone is worth coming to The Muppets Take The O2, but I am delighted that so many of my famous friends are coming to join us on stage, to entertain my fans and, of course, to give moi a standing ovation.”
