Tooth and Claw (2006). A tense moment shot by Rory Taylor, with VFX by the Mill.

The Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) encountered this fabulous creation in an episode of firsts. The first and only time David Tennant used his Scottish accent, the birth of Torchwood and the first time a Werewolf had featured in a New Doctor Who story.

  1. “the first time a Werewolf had featured in a Doctor Who story.”

Nitpicky McNitpick here to smugly claim superiority on this one minute fact of Doctor Who. Lest my memory betrays me, the werewolf was first seen in the Seventh Doctor story, “The Greatest Show in the Galaxy.”

For shame, Blogtor Who. I expected the staff to have omniscient knowledge of all things Who-related. I shall retreat to my dark hole in self-righteous triumph.

(On a serious note, I love the drawing of the werewolf. The teeth are especially impressive.)

  2. And lets not forget that the episode also gave us our first look at one of Clara Oswald’s echoes.

    Think about it.
