Last year the 10th Anniversary of The Sarah Jane Adventures was celebrated with a reunion event. Now those unable to attend the one-off event, or those who simply want to relive it again, can purchase the DVD of the event. Or, if you prefer the experience in high definition, a BluRay is also available. Both can now be purchased through Amazon UK.
Held in Cardiff, where the show was filmed, The Attic saw a reunion of cast and crew who worked on the hit CBBC TV show ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’ to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the show. The event raised over £6000 for Ty Hafan, a children’s hospice based in nearby Penarth, close to the location of Sarah Jane Smith’s house on Bannerman Road. A percentage of the DVD sales will also be donated to Ty Hafan.
Guests on the day included cast members; Tommy Knight (Luke Smith), Anjli Mohindra (Rani), Yasmin Paige (Maria Jackson), Sinead Michael (Sky), Mina Anwar (Gita), Katy Manning (Jo Grant/Jones), Paul Marc Davis (The Trickster) and Richard Wisker (George in ‘Lost in Time’). Also in attendance were Phil Ford and Joe Lidster (Writers), Gary Russell (Script Editor), Sam Watts (Composer), John Leeson and Mat Irvine (K9), Scott Handcock (Runner). Guest of honour was Brian Miller (Elisabeth Sladen’s husband) who also appeared in the show. The event was hosted by CBBC presenter Chris Johnson.
With a running time over over 7 HOURS, the release features the full stage panels from the day. These were recorded in superb quality with unobstructed views and a direct audio feed. The panels cover a range of on and off screen memories, the careers of the cast, memories of Elisabeth Sladen, the music of the show, writing and producing the episodes and so much more.
Also included is a special version of ‘The Gameathon’, previously seen on the CBBC Sarah Jane Adventures website. It is essentially a ‘sports day, activity, challenge’ event including events from sack and space hopper races to a maths challenge. Not to be missed!
The DVD is available at £14.95 with the BluRay priced at £24.95 from Amazon UK.
This event and the DVD is unofficial and not endorsed or supported by the BBC.
