Organisers of The Attic: The Sarah Jane Adventures Reunion event, announced on Twitter this evening the final amount raised for Ty Hafan. And it was a lot!

The event, held at the end of July, reunited cast and crew from ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’. Tickets for the event sold out in advance. Headlining the event were four of the main cast, Tommy Knight, Yasmin Page, Anjli Mohindra and Sinead Michael, reunited for the first time in several years. Other guests included writer Phil Ford, script editor Gary Russell and composer Sam Watts. Doctor Who alumni Katy Manning, Mat Irvine and John Leeson were also present. Throughout the day autograph, photo and panel sessions were held. The largest display of original costumes from the series was also showcased. There were games and a good time had by all. Full coverage of the event can be found here.

After the event the fundraising continued. For instance, a script for an unmade Sarah Jane Adventures story, ‘The Thirteenth Floor’, sold for £370. Further items including screen-used costume pieces and t-shirts given to cast and crew were also auctioned. Additional autographs, exclusive postcard sets, mugs and photobooks were also sold. DVDs of the event were also available for purchase and will be despatched soon. Every purchase ultimately contributed to raising a fantastic total of £6643.35 for Ty Hafan.

Sandy Knight (left), Mum of Tommy (Luke Smith on the show), presented the cheque to Ty Hafan yesterday. The Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice is only a short distance along the Welsh coast from Sarah Jane Smith’s house and the Bannerman Road filming location in Penarth. Visit www.tyhafan.org for more information about the hospice and how the proceeds from the event will help fund their continuing work supporting life-limited children and their families.

A massive congratulations to Sandy and all those involved in delivering a fantastic event and for raising so much for such a worthy cause! Thank you also to the guests, attendees and everyone for helping reach that total! Well done eveyone!
