In an unprecedented event, the Tenth Doctor – David Tennant and the Eleventh Doctor – Matt Smith will appear together for the first time at a Wizard World event.
On 16 April at the PlayStation Theater in Manhattan, the two ex-Time Lords will be answering questions, signing autographs, and posing for photo ops. Fans can choose to purchase either a Solo or a Dual VIP ticket. A Solo VIP includes a photo op with one of the Doctors, one autograph, and one admission to the Q & A. The Double VIP entitles the fan to a photo with both Doctors, autographs from both, as well as guaranteed attendance for two at the Q & A panel.
Tennant and Smith did appear together on screen, of course, during the celebrated 50th Anniversary episode “The Day of the Doctor.” But this appearance marks the first time they will appear together live at a fan event.
John Macaluso, the CEO of Wizard World, seems thrilled with this event.
“Our fans have been clamoring to see David Tennant and Matt Smith, two of our most popular guests, together, and Wizard World is proud to have brought them to this unique event, Wizard World NYC—The Doctors is a significant addition to our schedule of pop culture and gaming conventions that will be one of the highlights of an exciting year.”
Tennant and Smith will be appearing for several hours together at PlayStation Theater, which is located at 1515 Broadway in Manhattan. There is a Gold showing from 10 AM-1:30, a Platinum from 12:30-4:30, and two shorter appearances from 5:00-5:45 and 6:00-6:45. April in New York is spectacular by the way, and for more information on getting tickets see the Wizard World website.
Tennant is currently filming new biopic, Mad to be Normal before heading to BAM Brooklyn for the New York run of Richard II while Smith is appearing in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and is set to begin filming a number of new roles, including a biopic of New York photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
