There are some great Doctor Who short story collections out there. I believe they work best when they have a unique angle that all the stories are told from. Puffin Books have come up with a great idea for their new collection. All the stories in the new collection are penned by female authors, including Strictly Come Dancing sensation, Susan Calman. Susan has already tweeted about how “chuffed” she is to have written for the collection.

The other female authors that have written for the collection are Jenny Colgan, Jaqueline Rayner, and Dorothy Koomson. The four stories are all told from the perspective of female companions to the Doctor. The companions whose stories we hear are Rose Tyler, Bill Potts, Clara Oswald and Sarah Jane Smith. These stories are a celebration of the Doctor’s fantastic female friends, packed with heroic action and heart for fans of all ages.

The collection is titled The Day She Saved The Doctor and is available for pre-order. It will be available from March 8th. This date is important as it is International Women’s Day.
