Big Finish has shot straight to warp factor ten on its new Star Trek range.
Hints were dropped on Sunday’s podcast that Big Finish was producing audiobooks of Star Trek novels. Confirmation was beamed down to us today along with the release of the first two audiobooks in the Star Trek: Prometheus series. Read by Alec Newman, who played Malik in Star Trek: Enterprise.
Star Trek: Prometheus

Star Trek: Prometheus is a 2016 series of German-language novels penned by authors Bernd Perplies and Christian Humberg. The English translation of its first novel, “Fire with Fire” hit shelves in November 2017 with the second novel “The Root of all Rage” following soon after. The third translated novel is due for release in November 2018.
The first two audiobooks are available to download now from the Big Finish website at £9.99 each. The final audiobook will drop in December, one month after the English translation. The trilogy can be purchased as a bundle for £24.99.
Message in a Bottle
The USS Prometheus made only one TV apperance in the Star Trek universe. She first appeared in “Message in a Bottle”, a 1998 episode of Star Trek: Voyager. In an effort to contact Starfleet, the crew of the stranded Voyager transmits it’s holographic CMO through an alien relay network. Materialising on the deserted Prometheus, The Doctor (not that one) must retake the ship from the Romulans with the help of his next incarnation…seriously, not that Doctor.
The novel series takes place several years after the events of the TV episode with Captain Richard Adams assuming command. A series of terrorist attacks along the borders of Klingon space demands a response. It’s up to the fledgling crew of the refitted USS Promtheus to uncover this new threat.
