Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi, which has a heartbreaking music video starring Peter Capaldi, is this week’s UK number one single.

At the start of February, a music video by singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi (described by some as “the Scottish Ed Sheeran”) went viral. Someone You LovedĀ was an instant hit for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it put organ donation front and centre in the minds of millions. But, in a genius move, Lewis also enlisted the help of his dad’s second cousin. Who, it turns out, just so happens to be the Twelfth Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi.

Following success and acclaim for both the song and video, Someone You LovedĀ has stormed its way to the top of the official UK singles charts this week (Friday 1st March 2019), beating close contender Calvin Harris to the punch. The song also took the number one spot in the official Irish singles chart, dethroning Ariana Grande.

If you haven’t heard it yet or just want to show your continued support, the song is available to stream and download from all the usual places. It will feature as a track on Lewis’ upcoming debut album, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which releases on 17th May and is available to pre-order now. Fans can also catch Lewis on his sold-out world tour later this year.

Congratulations to Lewis Capaldi on his UK chart-topping success!
