It has been announced that the much-awaited fourth series of ‘Sherlock’ will premiere on January 1st, 2017.
This news made fans on both sides of the Atlantic very happy when it was revealed that the series would broadcast simultaneously on both BBC One and PBS Masterpiece.
The series will open with Episode 1 – ‘The Six Thatchers’ which sees the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as high-functioning sociopath Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his sidekick Dr John Watson.
Amanda Abbington will also return as Mary in this new series from co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. A series described as the ‘darkest yet’ and ‘a real emotional roller coaster.’
‘Sherlock’ is produced by Hartswood Films.
