The BBC have indicated that news on Doctor Who Series 12 is coming on the 23rd of November

A new teaser video posted to the BBC and BBC America’s social media accounts confirm a reveal of Series 12 is coming soon. Marked on YouTube with the title “Doctor Who: Series 12” and on Facebook will the label “23.11.19” it can only mean one thing. Two weeks from now, on Doctor Who’s 56th anniversary, we’ll get our first official look at Jodie Whittaker’s second season.

Doctor Who Series 12 has been previously announced as hitting our screens in early 2020, but little else has been officially revealed yet. We do know that the whole TARDIS crew of the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yaz Khan (Mandip Gill) and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh) are all returning for the new season. While the return of the Judoon, complete with new mohawk hair style, has been teased in images from the BBC. Chris Chibnall also returns as the series’ head writer and showrunner.

In line with Series 11’s approach of utilizing new talent, the list of directors for the new season are again largely new to Doctor Who. The list includes Lee Haven Jones (Wizards vs Aliens, Vera), Nida Manzoor (Enterprice), Emma Sullivan (Silent Witness, Call the Midwife) and Jamie Stone (Doctor Who: The Last Day).

As well as being the show’s anniversary, the 23rd will also be ten months to the day since filming on Series 12 began in South Africa on the 23rd of January. With filming having wrapped on the 31st of the October, the focus is now clearly shifting to promoting the results arrival on our screens early next year.
