Hall H was all a’buzz in San Diego Comic Con this weekend for Doctor Who news. And boy did the BBC deliver! Spoilers, ahoy!

Twice Upon a Trailer
We can reveal the 2017 Christmas Special will be entitled ‘Twice Upon a Time’ and serves as Peter Capaldi’s swansong as the Doctor. The Who team at SDCC premiered a trailer which we’ve embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
Cast and Characters
Alongside Capaldi will be David Bradley taking on the role of the First Doctor. A new character called The Captain – a World War One soldier – will appear, played by Mark Gatiss with a spruce moustache. Story details are yet to be divulged, but we know that Jodie Whittaker will take over the title role from Capaldi in this episode.
Bill is Back
More big news is that confirmation that Pearl Mackie will reprise the role of Bill Potts for the story. Bill was last seen Cyberized before being turned into a sentient puddle creature and setting off to explore the Universe. This show is weird sometimes.
155 Days Until Christmas
OK, so our appetite has been thoroughly whetted. Unfortunately, there are still five months until the big day. Luckily, the team at Blogtor Who love to talk shop. So we’ve come up with a few ideas of what we’d like to see happen come Crimbo. That should tidings you over until December 25th…I’m sorry.
I’m hoping Whittaker’s hair will be dyed ginger. First thing she notices after regeneration: “Ginger. I’m ginger! Finally!” Then a few other random observations, and then the very last thing, maybe a glimpse in the mirror: “Oh, THAT’s new…”
