Torchwood: The Flawless Man penned by the dynamic writing duo of Lauren Mooney and Stewart Pringle is out now!
Despite the announcement of the end of the Torchwood Monthly Range, the wonderful team over at Big Finish still have a few final treats in store for us and this is certainly one of them. The Flawless Man is the writing duo’s fourth, and final, Torchwood Monthly Range story. It sees the return of Tom Price’s loveable Sergeant Andy Davidson. It throws him into the mysterious case of the death of Martin Binns.
The Flawless Man sees the debut of DI Priya Sharma – Andy’s boss! While Andy is no stranger to a bizarre case landing on his desk, DI Sharma on the other hand is much more skeptical when it comes to the paranormal which makes for fantastic quips back and forth between the pair. Their dynamic throughout the story is a joy to listen to. Both the writing and the actors nailing the synergy. Had the range continued, this would’ve certainly been a relationship to explore and develop further.
Spine chilling sound design helps this found footage style story terrify listeners
Inspired by found footage style storytelling, this story has a particular creepiness about it which fits right in with the range. The sound design is one of the most startling and downright creepy landscapes this range has produced. Certain moments will undoubtedly send a chill down your spine. The guest cast in general for this story are superb, especially Matthew Woodyatt’s Daniel Swanson who performs the role perfectly, as he goes on quite a journey from start to finish that requires plenty of range. The Torchwood range is no stranger to tackling mental health and its links to the paranormal, with both the writing and acting evoking lots of emotion from the story which leaves the listener rather heartbroken in many ways.
The dynamic duo of Lauren Mooney and Stewart Pringle are well regarded as having written some stellar Torchwood stories, and this is a perfect goodbye to the range from them. With plenty of twists and turns, and an extremely eerie atmosphere, this one is a perfect listen to any Torchwood and/or horror fan.

Torchwood: The Flawless Man
Martin Binns is dead. He leaves behind a pile of video tapes and a warning on the walls of his flat: “He Is Coming”.
Andy’s boss is keen to write the death off, but Andy’s been around Torchwood too long to let it go. The tapes contain the rushes of an unfinished horror film. Hidden in it is a forgotten crime and a terrible warning. He. Is. Coming.
Torchwood: The Flawless Man is now available to own as a collector’s edition single-disc CD (+ download for just £13.99) or as a digital download only (for just £8.99), exclusively here.
