Vortex Butterflies part 2, takes this four part adventure to a whole new level.
As the doctor returns to visit old friends in search of a device, a familiar face makes a reappearance for the first time in the Tenth Doctor run. This cameo serves a purpose to the plot and actually gives meaning to the characters return making it a successful addition.
Our other heroes have also gone their separate ways. Gabby and Cindy are left in the house to fend for themselves and Noob, who visits his own home planet finds romance. All these different aspects will soon become part of a grand plan as writer Nick Abadzis superbly puts it all together.
The artwork from Giorgia Sposito with Iolanda Zanfardinoonce is outstanding. The final panel may even leave readers on the edge as we may have the answer to the oldest question in the Whoniverse.
There are loads of fabulous moments in the issue some insignificant to the plot but these little moments will keep many fans happy with a continuity feast.
Overall a very good continuation of the comic run. We can certainly look forward to many answers in the next issue and possibly more surprises.
