If there is going to be a war with the Sontarans then the human race needs soldiers. Playing one of those men is actor Gerald Kyd. Let us introduce you to the actor playing General Logan…

Regular watchers of the BBC series Casualty may recognise Gerald Kyd who played Dr Sean Maddoxx in multiple episodes. Other television credits include Doctors, Silent Witness, BenidormCold Feet and Silent Witness. Kyd also played Thomas Ricoletti in the Sherlock special, where he was murdered by ‘The Abominable Bride‘. Big screen credits include roles in Tomb Raider II, LegacyThe Defender and Principles of Lust. On stage, Gerald Kyd has been part of productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company and The National Theatre, amongst many others. Gerald Kyd has already contributed to the Whoniverse through Big Finish Productions. He took on the roles of Martin Regan, Sir Robert DeVere and Mulryne in Doctor Who: 1963: The Assassination Games. Kyd also played the role of Lt. Maurizio Savinio in Doctor Who: Aquitane.

The Times once described Gerald Kyd to be “wonderful as a self-mocking but tenacious man aiming nobly, sometimes furiously, for the impossible.” Tonight he plays General Logan, a military man of the Crimean War charged with defeating the Sontarans. Sounds impossible to me! Will he succeed? We’ll find out tonight…

Doctor Who: Flux continues tonight with Chapter 2: War of the Sontarans on BBC One and BBC America.
