Fantom Events have updated details of their event calendar for the year, including the brand new Polarity!

As we move into Spring, more details of the year’s convention calendar from Fantom Events have begun to emerge. And chief among those announcements is the unveiling of an entirely new convention: Polarity. Based in Fantom’s home base of Coventry, Polarity arrives at Drapers’ Hall on the 15th of July. Some guests have already been revealed, with more to follow. The line-up so far includes:

  • Colin Baker (The Sixth Doctor)
  • John Leeson (K9)
  • Samuel Oatley (T’Zim-Sha)
  • Finlay Robertson (Larry Nightingale, Blink)
  • David Gooderson (Davros, Destiny of the Daleks)
  • Nick Evans (Didius, The Romans)

Utopia has added Colin Baker and several companions to its guest list

Next up, Utopia takes place in Milton Keynes for an entire weekend of fun from the 2nd to the 4th of June. Kent Hills Park will be home for the duration to people from in front of behind the Doctor Who cameras. Recently announced are:

  • Colin Baker (The Sixth Doctor)
  • Katy Manning (Jo)
  • Peter Purves (Steven)
  • John Levene (Benton)
  • Daniel Anthony (Clyde, The Sarah Jane Adventures)
  • Lisa Bowerman (Bernice Summerfield)
  • John Bloomfield (costume designer, The Face of Evil, The Talons of Weng-Chiang)
  • Sue Malden, Philip Morris, and Paul Vanezis, (key figures in the recovery of missing episodes)

That’s in addition to the previously announced Sophie Aldred (Ace), Philip Hinchcliffe (producer, 1975-1977), Graeme Harper (director, 12 stories from 1981 to 2009), and George Gallaccio (production unit manager, 1974-1976, and one of the ‘Timeless Child’ Doctors)

Who Pride is taking shape, with details of the LGBTQ+ friendly events taking place over the weekend

More details of new event Who Pride, happening on the 1st-3rd of September at Warwick University, are available too. Between 10am – 5pm on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd September there will be all the usual convention activities including stage panels and your opportunities to meet guests for autographs and photos. There will also be presentations discussing LGBTQ+ and diversity in Doctor Who on screen and beyond, and many other features to be announced!

On Friday evening there’s a social at Student Union pub The Dirty Duck from 8pm, for the opportunity to get to know other attendees and take part in a Pub Quiz hosted by Paul W.T. Ballard followed by Bingo, brought to you by their drag in residence Izzy Harjett. While the following evening brings a Cosplay Ball. Guest announcements for Who Pride are still forthcoming.

The first guests have November’s Pandorica have been revealed

Finally, the highlight of the Fantom calendar materializes at the Future Inn Bristol from the 10th to the 12th of November, just in time for the 60th Anniversary. The first guests for Pandorica have been announced, with more to come in the next few months.
