For the first time in 10 years, the original cast of Torchwood returns in a new full-cast audio drama from Big Finish Productions. Everyone is back, Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones, Owen Harper and Toshiko Sato – all set to battle with aliens, humanity and themselves in a new story coming out April 2018.

John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) returns as Captain Jack Harkness, joined by Eve Myles (Broadchurch, Victoria) as Gwen Cooper, Gareth David-Lloyd (Sherlock Holmes) as Ianto Jones, Burn Gorman (Game of Thrones, The Dark Night Rises) as Owen Harper, and Naoko Mori (Absolutely Fabulous, Spice World) as Toshiko Sato. Also as a delightful surprise, the team will be battling the vicious George Layton played by none other than Rory Williams, Arthur Darvill (Legends of Tomorrow, Doctor Who, Broadchurch).

In this box set series, James Goss producing.  The famed writer of many a celebrated Big Finish stories and Doctor Who books was thrilled to get the original team back together.  “It’s finally happened – we’ve got all five of Torchwood back together! We couldn’t have done it without their incredible enthusiasm and patience, with them coming to us straight off planes, trains and film sets. They’re all tremendous, and tremendous fun to have in the studio. Guy Adams has written a creepingly epic thriller in which Owen drives Torchwood to infiltrate a UFO cult. It’s about betrayal, horror, and little grey men.”

Written by Guy Adams, the new stories following the traditional Torchwood story, with aliens attacking earth and bring out the best and worst of humanity. “It’s been ten years since there’s been an adventure featuring Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Tosh and Owen,” says writer Guy Adams, “and coming up with something big enough – and complex enough – to need them was great fun. After all, taking down an entire religion isn’t easy. But if anyone can do it…”

Scott Handcock, the director, was happy to be in the hot seat lording over the cast.  “Over the last few years, we’ve had a blast working on Torchwood for Big Finish. Not only have we taken the story forward, but we’ve been reviving the classic team members for monthly adventures along the way! And now we have an adventure featuring all of the classic line-ups from the first two television series. I won’t pretend it’s been easy – everyone’s so busy, it’s taken years of planning and waiting – but it’s a thrill to hear them all return for an epic, three-part story. And we’ve some brilliant guest stars too.”
