A new wave of six badges from Forbidden Planet feature the TARDIS in classic moments from the show’s history
Forbidden Planet have added a new wave of pin badges to their Doctor Who collection. Each one celebrates the TARDIS, the Time Lord’s iconic time machine, in a different form. From the classic era right up to the most recent episode, you can wear your Whovian love on your sleeve, while also enjoying some deep cut references to past adventures. This wave combines new designs with re-issues of some in demand favourites.

The Seventh Doctor TARDIS (Pink)
This features the ship as it appeared in 1988’s The Happiness Patrol. In the story, the Doctor brings Ace to the colony planet Terra Alpha. There, the dictator Helen A has outlawed sadness, and her ruthless enforcers the Happiness Patrol and vicious torturer the Kandman keep the population smiling. The Happiness Patrol even paint the TARDIS pink to make it look more cheerful!
The Van Gogh TARDIS
The second badge takes its cue from the Eleventh Doctor’s encounters with the artistic genius in the 2010 series. They meet face to face in Vincent and the Doctor as the Time Lord gives the troubled artist a glimpse of his future. Van Gogh then returns the favour in series finale The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang with a painting depicting the TARDIS’ destruction. This pin badge shows the TARDIS wreathed in flames, in a homage to Van Gogh’s painting style.
The Eleventh Doctor Cloud TARDIS
This depicts the time machine in its roost among the clouds in 2012 Christmas Special The Snowmen. Deeply affected by the loss of his companions Amy and Rory, the Doctor retreats to the clouds above Victorian London. It’s only the mysterious governess Clara Oswald who can coax him back into a new investigation.
The Twelfth Doctor Flatline TARDIS
A badge using 2014 adventure Flatline as its inspiration. The Doctor is trapped aboard his ship when creatures from a two dimensional reality invade our world and feed on the time machine’s dimensions – leaving it smaller on the outside than ever. When the TARDIS falls upon a train line, the Doctor can only reach safety by sticking his hand out the now tiny door and walking the Police Box like a crab.
The TARDIS (2018-2025)
This is based on the Police Box prop introduced in Jodie Whittaker’s second adventure, The Ghost Monument. The same external design continued to feature in the show up until the closing moments of most recent episode The Reality War.
The Fifteenth Doctor Regeneration TARDIS
The final badge also features that same Police Box design, but with doors flung open, as Ncuti Gatwa’s incarnation says his goodbyes and explodes with energy.
