It’s quite the month for the David Tennant revival. Not only is he currently filming material for the show’s 60th Anniversary but the original soundtrack album of Murray Gold’s iconic music will soon also be back in shops. The Doctor Who Series 1 & 2 Soundtrack is due to be re-released on the 27th of May. Back by popular demand having been originally released in 2013 on black vinyl, this now classic soundtrack has been repressed on coloured vinyl for the first time.
The enduringly popular music to Doctor Who’s first two series of the revival features some of Murray Gold’s finest work alongside two songs from Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy), Song For 10 from 2005’s Christmas special, The Christmas Invasion, and Love Don’t Roam from 2006 special The Runaway Bride.
From the Ninth Doctor and Rose dashing hand in hand across Westminster Bridge on their way to defeat the Auton invasion, to the final battle between the Bad Wolf and the God of All Daleks. From the newly suited and conversed Tenth Doctor joining the Tylers for Christmas dinner on the Powell Estate, to burning up a sun just to say goodbye at Bad Wolf Bay.
