Matt Smith seems to be picking up some interesting roles after leaving the TARDIS. The latest rumour from Variety is that the former Doctor will have a key role in the next Star Wars adventure.

If Variety’s article is true — and they tend to have their pulse on the latest news – he will be joining Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Richard E Grant, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Dee Williams and of course Mark Hamil in filming which is currently occurring in the UK.  The late Carrie Fisher will feature in the film as well via unreleased footage from the previous movies.  Smith recently starred in “The Crown” and had a key role in the blockbuster film,  Terminator Genisys.

Smith is currently starring in “Charlie Says” a movie about cult-leader and mass murder Charles Mason.

So should Matt be part of the Empire or the Rebels?
