The most recent issue of the Radio Times released today features Matt Smith on the cover. He is in character as Prince Philip promoting Series 2 of Netflix’s The Crown. Inside the issue there is also an interview with Matt Smith and co-star Claire Foy.
Matt Smith actually discusses the similarities between portraying Prince Phillip and the Doctor within the interview. “They’re more similar than you’d think: they’re both sort of aliens, both outcasts.” Then as an afterthought, he comes up with an idea for a new Doctor Who adventure. “Now that would be a great episode – Doctor Who with a young Prince Philip.”
The feature on The Crown kicks off Radio Times’ coverage on Christmas TV. They focus on the 12 Festive shows to look forward to this Christmas. Doctor Who Christmas special ‘Twice Upon A Time’ makes the list as one of the Christmas highlights. Check out the new synopsis and iconic image for the episode revealed on Blogtor Who recently.
As does The Highway Rat which features the vocal talents of the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, as the titular character.
Series 2 of The Crown lands on Netflix on Friday the 8th December.
