Lovarzi add an official Tom Baker Season 12 cardigan and a new backpack to their collection
Official Doctor Who licence holder Lovarzi have added two new exclusive items to their wardrobe, just in time to go under the tree this month. The knitwear specialists now have the first official version of Tom Baker’s iconic argyle cardigan. Featuring a unique pattern of diamonds in three different colours, the original first appeared in the Fourth Doctor’s debut story Robot. He continued to wear it that entire season, with its final appearance in Revenge of the Cybermen Part Four.
An affordable version of the Season 12 cardigan has been a holy grail of Doctor Who cosplayers for decades. Most settle for a generic brown argyle pattern, but now they have the option of a more accurate cardigan. The Lovarzi version also comes with three pockets, and the original’s distinctive sleeves in a different brown. It line with Lovarzi’s mandate to serve fans (and even, dare we say it, ‘normal people’) beyond the cosplay market, the cut of their cardigan is a middle ground between the high waist and overlong sleeves of the 1970s style original, and something a little bit more modern for everyday wear.

There’s also a new Doctor Who backpack available from Lovarzi this month. Featuring a slightly more subtle design than a lot of merchandise, a pattern of TARDISes and Daleks arranged in snowflake like Xs covers black bag. The patch reading “DOC-TOR-?” is similarly low-key, though the “Police Public Call Box” one might well give the game away.
The backpack comes with all the features you’d expect from this sort of item. There’s a separate laptop compartment with strap, an inner zip pocket, an outer zip pocket, and a mesh side slot for your bottle or travel cup.
