An exciting new Doctor Who and Cardiff event has been announced.

Join Pride Cymru at ‘Who’s Queer Now’ for a day of conversations about the worlds of Doctor Who, including Torchwood and Class and their impact on LGBT people.

During the day there will be panels and audience Q&As with guests such as ex-Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, Torchwood’s Ianto Jones – Gareth David-Lloyd and comedian and ‘Sleep No More’ guest star, Bethany Black. They will be joined by newly announced series 8 & 9 Director Rachel Talalay, Doctor Who’s first Director Waris Hussein and Dalek operators Nicholas Pegg and Barnaby Edwards. Doctor Who: The Fan Show host Christel Dee recently announced on Twitter that she would also be joining the line-up.

More guests are still to be announced.

But it’s not just chatting, there will also be screenings, a chance to add to your Doctor Who merchandise, a quiz and raffle with some special prizes.

Event coordinator, Lisa Power, recently spoke to GScene Magazine saying, Class and Torchwood both feature LGBT relationships, but gay and transgender people have loved Who for much longer. These shows helped a lot of us find our own identities. And many LGBT people have worked on them, from the very first show onwards.”

The event, part of LGBT History Month will take place on Saturday 25th February from 11am-4pm at the Reardon Smith Theatre, National Museum Wales.

Tickets cost £5 and are on sale now.
