The Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker, will once again be sitting down to read the CBeebies Bedtime Story tomorrow evening (New Year’s Eve)!
Jodie Whittaker will be reading from ‘Snowball‘ by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. This seasonal tale follows a lonely young snowball. He decides to come down from the top of his mountain to visit the local town for some fun. However, on his way down, he trips and begins to roll! As he rolls, he picks up all sorts of strange things – a sheep, a line of washing, and even a bicycling bear!
This marks Whittaker‘s second time reading a CBeebies bedtime story. She read her first story on this now iconic children’s television segment only a few weeks ago. Back at the beginning of December, Jodie read from Andrea Beaty and David Roberts‘ ‘Ada Twist, Scientist‘. This story followed a curious and imaginative young girl called Ada. She’s not afraid to ask ‘why’, and is determined to find the source of the awful smell filling her house! Jodie Whittaker‘s reading of ‘Ada Twist, Scientist‘ is still available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
The Doctor won’t be the only one making an appearance on the CBeebies Bedtime Story this week. Former companion Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts) will also be reading from Deborah Underwood and Meg Hunt‘s ‘Interstellar Cinderella‘ on Wednesday 2nd January. ‘Interstellar Cinderella‘ is an outer-space retelling of the classic fairy tale. Cinderella is an independent-minded girl who dreams of fixing fancy robots with her tools and sprockets. With help from her fairy godrobot, she shall go to the ball! But when the prince’s spaceship runs into trouble, Cinderella is on hand to help rescue him!
