Jodie Whittaker: Films of My Life to be held on the 11th of August at Somerset House

Film4’s legendary open air Summer Screen season returns for a fourteenth season next month. As always, the courtyard of stately Somerset House plays host to two weeks of open air showings of films both classic and popular, historically significant and crowd pleasing.

The series runs from the 9th of August 9th to the 22nd. It’s accompanied by a series of Behind the Screen talks featuring notable actors, producers and other movie industry figures. Saturday the 11th of August’s Behind the Screen event has been announced as Jodie Whittaker: Films of My Life. In an hour long talk Whittaker will talk about the movies – and movie characters – she loves and that have shaped her own approach to acting, as well as focusing on moments from her own career that stand out as something special. Visitors can even enjoy a complimentary cocktail from the Grey Goose bar as part of their £10 ticket!

Sadly, this much in demand event is already sold out. However, tickets are still available for the double bill immediately following the talk. Classic female led fantasy films Labyrinth (1986) and The Wizard of Oz (1939) provide the perfect end to the evening.

The Film4 Summer Screen season features two weeks of great cinema and discussion
