Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker joins Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson, Kevin Hart, Michael Palin and Harry Styles as Graham’s guests

We’re now just over three weeks away from the premiere of Doctor Who Series 12. And the promotion of the new series is in full swing, with new trailers, Radio Times covers and media interviews. But one highlight of any time spent on the interview circuit has to be an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. And ahead of the start of part one of Spyfall on New Year’s Day, Jodie Whittaker is returning to Graham’s couch tonight.

This is Whittaker’s second appearance promoting Doctor Who on The Graham Norton Show. That episode saw her play the Doctor Who theme with Lada Gaga, explain her hometown’s slightly rude sounding nickname to Ryan Gosling, and talk about the casting process that won her the part.

Nobody can say what fun, games, and anecdotes will feature on tonight’s episode. But we can expect laughs, wine, and just a hint of rudeness. With the odd audience member being launched from Graham’s Big Red Chair.

The other guests tonight include Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart, both promoting their new movie Jumanji: The Next Level, in which they co-star with Karen Gillan. Also on the couch will be famous comedian, writer, and traveller Michael Palin, and pop star Harry Styles.

The Graham Norton Show has a long history of featuring the stars of Doctor Who. While this is Whittaker’s second appearance, David Tennant has appeared a massive seven times, three of which were for Doctor Who. Meanwhile, Matt Smith has graced the sofa five times, four of which were during his tenure as the Doctor. And Peter Capaldi has made three appearances, all for Doctor Who.

This season of The Graham Norton Show also marks a particular milestone – twenty-six series, the same as the original run of Doctor Who.

The Graham Norton Show is on BBC One at 10.40pm tonight.
