Jenna-Louise Coleman, soon to be seen in the 2012 Christmas Special The Snowmen and also popped up as Oswin in Asylum of the Daleks, has been interviewed by magazine Marie Clare. The actress revealed that she is keen for her boyfriend, Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden, to appear in Doctor Who; she says: “He’s a huge fan. I’m working on getting him on the show.”
Coleman also reveals she is looking for a career in the USA, telling the magazine, “I’ve been to LA for meetings. I’ll go back at some point.”

So, she is after a role for her boyfriend and has one eye on jobs in LA.
That's probably not what I would say if I was starting my role as companion in Doctor Who.
In her defense though, he has given interviews saying how much he loves the show and would do something on it if asked.
As for taking meetings in LA, she does have to think about a career after Doctor Who. Can't be the companion forever. Maybe I wouldn't have put that out there just starting out…but I can't fault the girl for looking at projects to do when Who isn't filming.
