American viewers, rejoice! Jenna Coleman returns to her throne on 13th January 2019 when Victoria Series 3 premieres on Masterpiece PBS.

Victoria Series 3 will depict a turbulent and uncertain time for both Europe and the monarchy. With revolutions on the continent and the Chartist movement reaching its peak in London, Victoria is under pressure from the government to leave London for her own safety. According to writer Daisy Goodwin: “Victoria and Albert are the most famous couple of the nineteenth century, but underneath the united facade, their relationship is at breaking point and it is a struggle for mastery that neither side can win”.

Alongside the regular cast including Jenna and her co-star Tom Hughes (Prince Albert), there are some new additions for Series 3. Laurence Fox will play Lord Palmerston, the wayward Foreign Secretary, while Kate Fleetwood plays Feodora, Victoria’s mysterious sister who makes an unexpected return into the Queen’s life. Further additions include John Sessions as Prime Minister John Russell and Lily Travers as the Duchess of Monmouth, as well as Nicholas Audsley, David Burnett and Emily Forbes.

At present, no date has been confirmed for the show’s return on ITV. We expect Victoria Series 3 will air in the UK sometime later this year, or at least in tandem with the Masterpiece broadcast in January.
