It has been announced that Georgia Moffett, better known to Doctor Who fans as ‘Jenny’ has joined the cast of a new BBC One thriller ‘In the Dark’, written by BAFTA-winner Danny Brocklehurst (Ordinary Lies, The Driver, Exile).
The four-part series adapted from the novels by Mark Billingham will star MyAnna Buring (Ripper Street, Downton Abbey) as Helen Weeks, a feisty yet fragile detective. They will be joined by Ben Batt (Shameless) as Buring’s partner. The cast also includes David Leon, Ashley Walters, Matt King, Clive Wood, Emma Fryer, Jamie Sives, Pearce Quigley, Sinead Matthews and Jessica Gunning.
Writer Danny Brocklehurst said of the actors: “It’s always great for a writer when you have a superb cast to bring your words to life.”
Author Mark Billingham was also pleased: “Danny has written a fantastic script and I could not be more thrilled at the amazing cast the production team has assembled for In The Dark. I can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life on screen.”

‘In The Dark’ is Executive Produced by Head of BBC Drama North, Hilary Martin (From Darkness, In The Flesh), and the producer is Hugh Warren (Thirteen, Call The Midwife). Episode one will be directed by Gilles Bannier and episode two by Ulrik Imtiaz Rolfsen.
Georgia Moffett has an impeccable Doctor Who pedigree, besides appearing on the show itself as solider Jenny and the 2009 animated series Doctor Who: Dreamland. Moffat is the daughter of Peter Davison, the Fifth Doctor and the wife of David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor.
Doctor Who fans are eager to see the return of Jenny. When we last saw her, Jenny was in a shuttlecraft, travelling to parts unknown. Her new life in her own words: ‘Oh, I’ve got the whole universe: planets to save, civilisations to rescue, creatures to defeat — and an awful lot of running to do.’
Moffett has also had acting roles in ‘Like Father Like Son’ (2005), ‘The Bill’ (2005 & 2009) and ‘Merlin’ (2009). More recently she to took producing the short film ’96 Ways To Say I Love You’ written and directed by Daisy Aitkens, and featuring Doctor Who’s very own Osgood (Ingrid Olivier).
