Actors and writers from across the Doctor Who universe have come together to create special one-hour video LOCKDOWNUNDER in aid of the postponed G’Day of the Doctor fundraiser event
Originally due to take place on Saturday 9th May at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern, G’Day of the Doctor was created as a Doctor Who charity fundraising event in aid of the victims of the recent Australian wildfires. The event is a joint project put together by the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in collaboration with a collective of Doctor Who fan groups. These include LGBT+ Doctor Who fan group The Sisterhood of Karn, Brighton-based group Diva Loka, as well as The Time Ladies blog, and the people behind The Quiz of Rassilon, the iconic monthly Doctor Who pub quiz night.
Unfortunately, in light of current circumstances, G’Day of the Doctor has been postponed for the time being, with a new date due to be announced in the future. Despite this, the event’s organisers have worked together with many of the special guests originally due to appear at the event earlier this month to create LOCKDOWNUNDER, a special one-hour video package full of treats and surprises. LOCKDOWNUNDER features contributions from actors Katy Manning, Nicola Bryant, Lisa Bowerman, and Janet Fielding, as well as writers Joe Lidster and Mark Gatiss, plus many more!
LOCKDOWNUNDER is available to view for everyone who holds a ticket to the original G’Day of the Doctor event, as well as anyone who makes a suggested donation of £5 or more on the event’s OutSavvy page. Donors will receive an email with the link and password to gain access to the video.
The money raised will go towards supporting two charities chosen by the event’s organisers. These are WIRES, the New South Wales Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service, and BlazeAid, a volunteer-based organisation which helps communities to rebuild after natural disasters.
