You wait 55 years for a female Doctor then two come along at once. With the phenomenal viewing figures, we’ll presume you’ve seen the stunning debut of Jodie Whittaker in The Woman Who Fell to Earth, but this week also sees another female Doctor. This week’s issue of the Beano features a Doctor Who inspired comic strip starring Minnie the Minx as Doctor Moo.

Two of my favourite things from childhood are Doctor Who and the Beano so this is an incredibly exciting crossover, and brilliant timing to build on the hype of the new series of Doctor Who.

The comic strip contains a few in-jokes and nods to Doctor Who. Walter has taken over the world in the future, and in a nod to being the Master sports a lovely beard. Minnie has to travel to the future on a T.A.R.D.I.S blue cow. One of the most exciting aspects of seeing the title of the comic in the new Doctor Who typeface.

Once in the future, she meets Dennis who is now older with a robotic arm and a future version of herself who has become a boring teacher. She must free herself and everyone else from Beanotown from Walter’s cunning plan.

If you want to find out what happens and experience for yourself a fun crossover between two British institutions from our childhood which will endure forever you can find Issue 3956 in the shops now.
