Fantom Events are bringing the stars, and the fun, for another year of Doctor Who conventions for the 60th anniversary
As usual 2023 will see Fantom Events arranging a series of Doctor Who conventions nationwide across the year. A whole host of cast and crew from the full six decades of the show will be in attendance with each event having its own unique flavour, whether it be Valiant, Utopia, Pandorica or Who Pride.

Valiant brings the Seventh Doctor to Sheffield’s Paternoster Row
The first to arrive is Valiant, taking place in Sheffield on the 11th of March. Held in the Workstation, appropriately situated on Paternoster Row, there are currently twelve guests appearing.
- Sylvester McCoy (The Seventh Doctor)
- Wendy Padbury (Zoe)
- Katy Manning (Jo Grant/Jones)
- John Leeson (K9)
- Matthew Waterhouse (Adric)
- Mark Strickson (Turlough)
- Julian Glover (Richard I, The Crusade/Scaroth, City of Death)
- Angela Bruce (Brigadier Bambera, Battlefield)
- Geoffrey Beevers (The Master, Keeper of Traken)
- Andrew Smith (writer, Full Circle)
- Stephen Gallagher (writer, Warriors’ Gate, Terminus)
- Glen McCoy (writer, Timelash)

Sophie Aldred is just the first of the stars to be announced for June’s Utopia
Next up, Utopia takes place in Milton Keynes for an entire weekend of fun from the 2nd to the 4th of June. Kent Hills Park will be home for the duration to people from in front of behind the Doctor Who cameras. Already confirmed so far, with more yet to come, are:
- Sophie Aldred (Ace)
- Philip Hinchcliffe (producer, 1975-1977)
- Graeme Harper (director, 12 stories from 1981 to 2009)
- George Gallaccio (production unit manager, 1974-1976, and one of the ‘Timeless Child’ Doctors)

Who Pride and Pandorica follow later in the year
Later in the year, Who Pride takes place the weekend of the 1st-3rd of September at Warwick University. Guests are still to be announced, but there will be an emphasis on Doctor Who’s history of diversity and representation. And the highlight of the Fantom convention calendar, Pandorica, will be taking over the Future Inn Bristol from the 10th to the 12th of November, just in time for the 60th Anniversary fever to have really taken hold. As with Who Pride, we’re still waiting for the first guest announcements. However, Pandorica traditionally has some of the biggest names in Who attending, so the excitement is already building.
