Details of the resurrected Patrick Troughton adventure are out now
New details of next month’s release of lost Second Doctor story The Faceless Ones have now been released. The lead feature on the DVD and Blu-ray is a brand new colour animation of the missing classic. However, the list below shows that every taste has been catered for in getting fans their preferred version of the story. In addition to the full length colour version, the animation is also available in black and white, while a telesnaps reconstruction and the surviving live action episodes are also included.
The six new animated episodes are being made in full colour and high definition and will include the following exclusive special features:
- A brand new colour animation of the entire story
- An alternate version of the animation, specially regraded for the best Black and White presentation possible
- The two surviving live action episodes, Episode 1 and Episode 3
- Telesnap Reconstructions of the missing episodes, using surviving photo images from the story 2, 4-6
- Audio commentaries moderated by Toby Hadoke (Animated Episodes 4, 5 & 6, plus Original Episodes 1 & 3), featuring Frazer Hines (Jamie), Anneke Wills (Polly), Chris Tranchell (Jenkins) and Clive Doig (Vision Mixer)
- Face to Face with the Faceless Ones (Making of Documentary)
- Stock Footage from Original Production
- Surviving Film Fragments from the missing episodes
- Trailer for the next animated release, Fury from the Deep
- PDFs of the original camera scripts
- Both animated versions contain remastered audio by Mark Ayres
