Dougray on set, yesterday.

Scottish actor Dougray Scott is to star in at least one episode of the upcoming series of Doctor Who. Scott is known for roles in films such as Mission: Impossible II, Enigma and My Week With Marilyn, and television shows such as Desperate Housewives and the BBC drama United (also starring David Tennant).

The Series 7 episode in which he makes an appearance is currently filming and is also the first filming to feature new companion, Jenna-Louise Coleman. As revealed by Doctor Who Magazine earlier this week, it’s written by Neil Cross (creator of Luther and Spooks writer) and directed by Jamie Payne (Call The Midwife, Ashes To Ashes) but will not be broadcast until 2013.

Jenna will make her screen debut in the 2012 Christmas Special.
