Doctor Who Series 9 Soundtrack Out 27th April, Pre-Orders Live Now!

Good things come to those who wait! More details have finally been announced for the Doctor Who Series 9 soundtrack… and rejoice, it’s only a month away!

The long-awaited 4-disc set from Silva Screen Records will release on Friday 27th April and pre-orders are now live on their website. If you’re quick off the mark you can grab the Limited Edition CD Collector’s Pack (costing £14.99), which includes an additional 16-page booklet with Stuart Manning’s poster images and a slipcase. Once this sells out, only the Standard Edition will be available. Both editions include a 20-page booklet about the soundtrack.

Premiering in September 2015, Doctor Who Series 9 featured Peter Capaldi in his sophomore season as television’s favourite time traveller. The soundtrack collection features general cues on Discs 1 and 2, the complete score from the episode Heaven Sent on Disc 3 and on Disc 4 the Christmas Special, The Husbands Of River Song. Five time BAFTA nominee Murray Gold recently confirmed that he is stepping down from composer duties on the show after 12 years of providing some of the finest music to be heard on contemporary television. This is also the twelfth Silva Screen release of his music from the 2005 revival onwards and underlines the breadth of Gold’s composing skill across over two and a half hours of music.
