Doctor Who will arrive in the Universes Beyond Magic: The Gathering for the 60th anniversary
Magic: The Gathering from Wizards of the Coast is the world famous collector’s card game of strategy and skill where players collect and tailor their own unique card decks. 2023 marks two special anniversaries – both Magic’s 30th anniversary and Doctor Who’s 60th. And to celebrate the two giant fantasy worlds are teaming up with a special set of decks bringing the Doctor’s world and Magic together at last.

The crossover will appear as part of Magic: The Gathering’s Universes Beyond series, which has already featured decks devoted to the likes of The Walking Dead, Godzilla and Lord of the Rings. The Doctor Who sets will take the form of four Commander decks, meaning each one gives a player everything they need to start their game before they begin expanding and tailoring their deck to suit their own style. Each card features a character, item, or action from across the show’s six decades to use in your game. In fact, it’s even set to feature the Fourteenth Doctor and his friends and foes!

Alongside the four main Command Decks, Collector booster packs will provide a chance to find rarer cards
Even if you’re not a Magic player, each card features the game’s customary stylish art, making them perfect collector’s items to celebrate Doctor Who’s Diamond Anniversary. Five preview images have already been released, revealing the Magic versions of the Fourth, Eleventh, and Fugitive Doctors, as well as the Doctors united at the end of The Day of the Doctor, and the TARDIS itself sitting on an alien plain.

In addition to the four Commander decks, alongside Collector boosters – more expensive packs containing rares, foils, frames, alternative artwork and other visual variants – that will apply alternative treatments to the cards.
