Step aboard a virtual TARDIS this weekend at MCM London and become one of the first to travel to The Edge of Time
Blogtor Who recently told you of Doctor Who’s next step into the world of gaming – The Edge of Time. Now we can reveal that while the exciting new Virtual Reality game goes on general sale in September, at MCM Comic Con London you have a chance to be one of the first in the world to experience it for yourself.
Games publisher Playshack and developer Maze Theory will be at MCM Comic Con London this weekend. And it’s all for the debut of Doctor Who: The Edge of Time! Attendees at the convention will have the chance to slip on a headset and become the hero of an epic adventure. Their mission – to outwit Daleks, Weeping Angels and more to find the Doctor. Even if that quest takes them to the edge of Time itself. The pictures and videos released so far suggest a world of stunning visuals awaits you. While the presence of Jodie Whittaker voicing the Doctor in the game promises an authentic feeling Doctor Who adventure.
MCM Comic Con is a highlight of convention calendar
But be warned – stepping straight from a VR console room where you control the flight of the TARDIS itself, to the very real Police Box prop that will also be on-site may leave you unsure of where the game ends and Comic Con begins!
MCM Comic Con London is one of the biggest convention events in the United Kingdom. The three day event begins today and runs until Sunday. Tickets can be bought directly from the MCM Comic Con site. General Admission tickets are already sold out for today and tomorrow. However, General Admission tickets for Sunday are still on sale. These are priced at £20, with up to two children under ten going free with every paying adult. And Priority Tickets can still be bought for all three days at the time of writing. Priority Tickets are £30 and include early entry and other discounts and perks.
Doctor Who: The Edge of Time
Armed with the iconic sonic screwdriver, players will solve mind-bending puzzles, grapple with classic monsters and encounter new horizons in a quest to find the Doctor and defeat a powerful force that threatens to destroy the fabric of reality. They will face the infamous Daleks and other known faces from the Doctor’s world plus some brand new never-before-seen monsters as they travel through stunning cinematic environments that truly bring the show to life!
The Doctor has been hurled through time to the end of the universe. Someone has unleashed a virus that threatens to rip apart reality itself. Players can pilot the TARDIS on a journey across worlds both familiar and strange to recover a series of powerful time crystals that can repair spacetime and ultimately, save the universe itself.
Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time will have its general launch in September 2019. Versions will be available for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest, HTC VIVE and the upcoming VIVE Cosmos.
