The Doctor Who Christmas special is available for fans to pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray
Fans can add this year’s festive episode, The Church on Ruby Road, to their at-home collection following it airing on Christmas Day. The special, airing Christmas Day, will see the Fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa take control of the TARDIS. He’ll also meet new companion Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson, for the first time. It’s no surprise that it will be getting a release on Blu-ray and DVD not long after. However, the exact date is still unknown for now.
Alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, The Church on Ruby Road features Davina McCall who will be playing herself as she joins the cast alongside Michelle Greenidge as Ruby’s mum Carla, Angela Wynter as Ruby’s grandmother Cherry and Anita Dobson as Mrs Flood. The Doctor and Ruby collide as they both plunge into the mysterious world of the Goblins. They’re trying to rescue an abducted baby but is there a connection to Ruby’s own mysterious past? The Christmas special also includes The Goblin Song, which is out now as a single and is currently in the national Top 10 download chart.
